Jun 24, 2010. Computer software? Course Design. Could someone give me an idea of what software is used to make the 2d course maps? Currently experimenting with a Google earth Sat image with a layer over it to draw in 2d items in their correct position and then remove the google earth layer.can someone tell.

Total Pro Golf Course Designer is a free Golf Course Design Software for Windows. This freeware lets you design a professional Golf Course. So that, you can design an excellent Golf Course layout, all its parts (Tees, Fairways, Bunkers, Greens, etc.) are available in the software. A new software development could transform the way architects design, says Wayne Branthwaite. CAD has made the process of designing golf courses easier and more accurate. Changing designs became simpler, and having the computer calculate earthworks made the process more accurate. However, actually drawing contour lines by hand to create the design has been the same since the year dot.
Description of Jack Nicklaus' Unlimited Golf & Course Design
Follow-up to the first Jack Nicklaus by Accolade. Back in the time of its release in 1990, there were three golf games competing for the passionate computer golfer's heart: Links by Access Software, PGA Tour Golf by Electronic Arts, and this game, Jack Nicklaus' Unlimited Golf.
Unlimited Golf arguably is the worst of these three, but is by no means a bad game. It has an included course designer and offers computer-controlled players-- two features neither Links nor PGA Tour Golf could offer the player. But overall gameplay can't keep up with the other two classy games, which is a shame. Recommended still, especially to budding course designers and golf beginners.
